- '무인비행선으로 산단 미세먼지 감시'
[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Ministry of Environment said that Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) will be used to effectively monitor fine dust emitted from industrial sites.
UAV is a remote- and automatic, ultra-light aircraft that can fly for more than four hours on a single charge.
The unmanned aerial vehicles are introduced to monitor fine dust in times of high concentrations of fine dust, along with the implementation of a seasonal management system (December this year to March next year). It is expected that closer monitoring will be possible in areas where businesses are concentrated such as industrial complex.
Existing methods using drones have the advantage of being able to measure the fine dust-causing substances (sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds, etc.) emitted from chimneys without entering the workplace, but have a small radius of activity with a short flight time.
The Ministry of Environment plans to operate unmanned aerial vehicles in large industrial complexes on the west coast (Sihwa, Banwol, Dangjin, Seocheon and Daesan) and the south coast (Yecheon, Yeosu and Ulsan) in line with the fine dust seasonal management system.
