'내년 산림청 예산 2조2113억원 편성'
[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The Korea Forest Service said that it planned to draw up 2.21 trillion won of budget in 2020.
This is an increase of 294 billion won (15.4%) compared to last year, the largest budget increase since its opening.
Next year's budget for major sectors includes ▷ 589.9 billion won for forest resource development and management, ▷ 587.4 billion won for forest disaster response and ecological conservation, ▷ 249.1 billion won for revitalizing the mountain village and forest welfare, ▷ 219.3 billion won for strengthening the competitiveness of the forest industry, ▷ 204.8 billion won for measures to cope with fine dust, and ▷ 138.1 billion won for inter-Korean and international cooperation and R&D.
Budgets for forestry workers, such as afforestation, forest cultivation and comprehensive forest project funds, and the creation of a fine dust-reducing forest have increased significantly.
New budgets reflecting new policy demands such as restoration of forests in DMZ and islands, and the creation of forest energy self-reliance villages have been greatly expanded.
