A revision to the Natural Environment Conservation Act has was proposed to promote the integrated and systematic restoration of natural environment.

Restoration of natural environment has been carried out independently by seven ministries and agencies, according to about 35 individual laws.

As a result, it was pointed out that the natural environment restoration projects were unsystematic because they were carried out without consideration of successive and diverse types and characteristics of natural ecology.

The revision will provide a legal basis for the definition of natural environment restoration, the basic principles of restoration of natural environment, the preparation of lists of candidates for restoration areas according to priority, the development of a consultative body for the promotion of the natural environment restoration projects, and the maintenance of natural environment restoration projects.
