[The Hwankyung Ilbo] The 'Korean Standard Food Composition Table', which the government released every five years, will be released every year.

The Korean Standard Food Composition Table is a national data used in the Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's assessment of the health and nutrition status of Koreans, the Korea Rural Economic Institute's food supply and demand table, and the customized diet of the people.

The Rural Development Administration revealed the information on April 22 and released the ‘Korean Standard Food Composition DB 9.1.’

The newly unveiled Standard Food Composition DB 9.1 includes 49 items including coffee, sandwich, and other foods, which are in increasing demand.

The nutrition content included also expanded to 130 types by adding detailed information on nutrition that has high health effects such as sugars, amino acids, fatty acids and vitamin E to the previous 43 types.

“We will provide information on the nutritional and functional ingredients of agricultural products consumed by the people and make efforts to make them easier and faster to utilize in the related research and industry sectors,” said an official from the Rural Development Administration.
