[The Hwankyung Ilbo] Anyone in Korea can now buy a liquefied petroleum gas-fueled car, as the bill passed during the plenary session of the National Assembly’s industry committee.

As regulations on LPG vehicles, which were allowed only for taxis, rental cars and disabled people, are eased, regular citizens will be allowed to buy LPG cars.

A related article of the Safety Control and Business of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act, which restricts the use of LPG as a fuel for automobiles, and regulations on imposing fines have been abolished.

The law on easing regulations on LPG cars is aimed at reducing fine dust by increasing the supply of LPG vehicles, which emit less fine dust than gasoline cars and diesel cars.
